Should I run, should I pick up my purse and bring it closer, should I move over a little ways away from her, or what exactly should I do? These are all of the thoughts that could have run through my mind encountering this beautiful purple-haired, tatted, pierced up, gothic looking girl. Instead, I sat patiently waiting for an opportunity to express the love of Jesus. Which I did and I paid for all of her services. Her response, “I have never had anyone to do anything nice for me.”
Have you ever had an encounter with someone that look totally opposite of you? What were your thoughts? Did you automatically judge them through your bias opinion, or did you see them through the eyes of Jesus? This girl looked like no one I would have ever chosen to sit next to. I was sitting quietly in the nail salon and this young lady entered the salon really loudly so I casually looked over my shoulder to see what was going on. She walked over to the seat right next to me. I looked down and noticed her service dog. Me, being the inquisitive (nosey lol) person that I am, waited for the perfect time to talk. I spoke and started the small talk that you do when you are just meeting someone. Then I asked her what was the service dog for? Her response, “I HAVE ANGER ISSUES.” Oh really? Lol! Now all of the thoughts I did not have at first came quickly with alarm bells ringing in my mind. I said, “I have never heard of someone having a service dog for anger”. She answered, “Yes, he will bark and pull on me to correct myself.” Puzzled, I asked,”Well what happens if you do not respond?” She answered with a smirk, “He gets louder and pulls harder.”
As I interrogated her, Holy Spirit started to speak to me. “That sounds just like Me.” I said, “Yes, Holy Spirit, it does.” I started to feel bad because I started to visualize how I have ignored Holy Spirit when He has tried to get my attention, and the many times have I overwhelmed Him by ignoring Him. I’m sure He isn’t overwhelmed with any of us, but I had to see it that clear so I could make a midstream turn when I am being stubborn. I know none of you are like me so I will just talk about me. Sometimes I do not want to hear Holy Spirit correct me. I want to do it my way sometimes because it satisfies my flesh. The crazy thing is, I cannot stand being ignored. Back in my crazy days, in the beginning of my marriage, if Mike ignored me it was like fire would roll up my back and into my brain! The only release I would have was to throw something, typically at him. Lol! I apologize for messing up your image of me. I am better now 😍
That dog sat there so patiently at times in an uncomfortable position because it had to stay with the person it was assigned to. When the girl had to go wash her hands and pick out a nail color the dog had to stay attached to her. How many times have we put Holy Spirit in an uncomfortable position because He could never leave us or forsake us? Some are so comfortable in sin that they do not even remember that Jesus is right there with them. Today visualize Holy Spirit in the flesh with you and watch how your attitude and responses differ.
“Do not quench (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit;” 1 Thessalonians 5:19 AMP
I could have taken this blog in other directions like dealing with the judgment of others or being blessed to be a blessing, but today I really felt a different tug. I want to encourage everyone that reads this to stop ignoring the tug or pull of Holy Spirit. His job is to protect and guide us. He has your best interests at heart. I love you, my sister!
Love love love it! Timely message!
This tremendously Blessed me.
Thank you Dr. Deedee
Love it the message was right on time.
Truth! 2 great messages, we have to be better about listening to & obeying the Holy Spirit when He says move & how He says move not on our own accord. And, we need to share the gospel with all people regardless of who they are, what they look like, how they act, etc. He came to save all not just a certaim type of people! Glory to God! Thanks for sharing!
I had too repent for all the times I neglected to obey the Holy Spirit. Thank you for sharing and encouraging me too always acknowledge and embrace others.
I love EVERYTHING about Dr. Dee Dee’s post. And yes, we must listen, be obedient and pay attention to the Spirit. I’m envisioning the spirit in another form today, literally a jacket that stays attached to me – keeps me warm, comforts me and reminds me that I’m protected from the elements. Also, if I take it off, I’ll get cool and will be uncovered. Wow…..a blessing
Wow!!! This was so good, and funny. You’re so authentic, loving, genuine, and raw. GOD KNOW”S I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for your life lessons and nuggets. Very relatable..
What a blessing! This definitely hit home in my heart. A wow-moment, for real. Lol! Thank you for sharing, Beautiful. 😊
Awesome mind blowing message!
WOW! I’m convicted! You just reminded me, or shall I say got in my face about this very thing that I’m guilty of each day. I know I need to listen to Holy Spirit all the time not just when it’s convenient for me. Thanks so much Dr. DeeDee for sharing and caring. Love you and love hearing from you😇
That was awesome. Thanks for the good Word. Wish I wasn’t behind on my blogs and skipped this week. I definitely need this.
P.S. Where can I get that dog? I know someone who can use one. 😀

Thank you for sharing this with us THIS DAY!!!
Thank you for reminding me to listen to that tug from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I get busy doing other things throughout the day and I don’t listen to the tugging of the Holy Spirit🙏🏽.
I find myself talking to Holy Spirit daily, so much to sometimes I be thinking he is tired of hearing his name called. I got it bad since I’ve learned that I have a connection…..Lol. For me I just feel like the closer we get the better I can hear from Him and not be confused by is it really Him that I hear. I so hunger to just be able to hear from Him and to be able to follow his instructions. Yeah this is where it get complicated for me. Is it your conscious that’s speaking to you or is it Holy Spirit? This is why I pray daily to Lady Wisdom, Madame Insite and an increase in my hearing.
Oh wow. This made me stop and think about how we judge people and how we are not sensitive to the tugging of the Holy Ghost. I want to be more sensitive to Him.
Great Post Dr. DeeDee. I know I’ve missed the gentle tugs and even the snatch your wig off moments from the Holy Spirit. Wanting to do things My Way…Really! Like you, I’m better now and still becoming.
You can never mess up my image of you…all I see is a GGG.
Hearing about your challenges and how you’ve overcome them only endears you more. Thank God for Holy Spirit because without Him we’d all be pretty scarey lol
Love you Dr Dee Dee
well spoken!!! Thanks!!!
Great message. One of those Selah! Got to do better… thank you Dr DeeDee
#Perfection Thanks Ma
You give me life! I love this
Great. Great. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You. I feel like I am struggling to hear the Holy Spirit right now. I am talking and I know he’s listening but I’m just not hearing.
I love your transparency with the Holy Spirit and with us! I’m going to try that because I don’t like to be ignored either. Now, I know how Jesus feels when I do it to him.
That’s is just crazy how this literally designated with my spirit this is literally what I am doing daily being more aware of the Holy Spirit when he speaks to me and saying to myself you better get up and do whatever it is he is moving me to do! I know it is all for my benefit!! I absolutely love this blog! It’s right on time every time since I have subscribed!! Thank you Dr. DeeDee!!! Also the examples you use and testimonies are perfect and very relateable concepts of our relationship with Christ, the Holy Spirit and God!!! Thank you so much!!!
Wow this is so on point for me today! Like always
Wow this was good groceries Dr Dee!! I thought about myself in this situation and my relationship with Holy Spirit. Do I always listen? Such a great reminder to always listen to Holy Spirit, pay attention to opportunities to share Jesus and His love. Thanks!!!
Thats good and right on point for me to be more conscious of His leading and not just act out of rote.
Dr. Dee Dee,
Each Monday, each timely blog, has been just for me. Thank you for being transparent, and real. God knows exactly what I need and when.
Wow, that brought light to my life! Thanks Dr. Deedee
Oh my God I needed this. Praise God for your obedience.
Love you my sister
Wow Dr. Dee Dee! That just jerked a knot out of me!! So many thoughts…where am I taking the Holy Spirit & Is He ever uncomfortable? Am I sensitive to His leading, even around those who are totally different from me? Will I listen to His leading & be obedient? As always you cause me to think & act! #thetug Thank you so much for sharing! Love you to life! See you in July
A great reminder if we would just stop and listen we would be spared so much. I’m thankful that I’m saved and to be connected to your teaching!!
Wow! I would have never seen this analogy! Maybe? Thank you for the reminder.
Dr Dee Dee, many time I may not know what those tugs are, however, after reading your post I now know it’s the Holy Spirit .
I will remain alert for His tugs!
Wow. I’ve NEVER heard of a service dog for people with anger issues. That’s deep. I love the analogy. That was incredible. The Holy Spirit really is there doing the same thing!
Excellent example of Holy Spirit demonstration of love in our lives!!
I remember Pastor Mike said your response is your responsibility. I feel like this would be the case. Not seeing the young lady for what was out side but seeing her the way Jesus view her.I want to see ALL people through the eyes of Jesus. Sometimes I say to myself talk to the person and try your best to be a witness.I love to talk a lot and try my best to be friendly but guilty of not being consistent. Thanks for life lesson❤️
Until next life lesson
Thanks Dr. Dee Dee. I have to do a better job of consulting Holy Spirit so I don’t mess things up because I think I know everything. I have to be careful of distractions that try to get my off. Great post! Thanks Sister…
What a perfect read this morning(Tuesday) UK time here is 8.18am. I thank you for sharing this message and for allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you. This hit me slap bang in the face…the tugs I ignore, I won’t be doing that anymore.
Wow…is all I can say!! This is an awesome message!!!
Thank you for this message. I have to do better with obeying the Holy Spirit. Great challenge for me!!!
Thank you Dr. Dee Dee
Thank you, just what I need. We have to be obedient when the Holy Spirit is speaking to us.
Loved this message as always! What a different way of looking at this. I have truly gained a new perspective. <3
NO LONGER GUILTY!! I have REPENTED and will do the word.
Thank you so much!!
Dr. DeeDee that almost took my breath away. Ignoring the tug of Holy Spirit, I used to ignore it with such ease months ago, but now I ebrace the tug and when i get in my flesh i am wuick to repent and make things right with the individual or individuals I crossed.
The Game Changer
Thank you for sharing! Especially the part about taking the holy spirit with us no matter where we go. Needed that reminder today!
And the nice thing about Him, Holy Spirit, he will reveal the purpose for him having to correct me if I ‘override’ him. He said he would never leave or forsake you; even when I’m wrong. You gotta Love a God like that.
Thanks as always for the bless word…. Thank you so much.. that was me awhile back…Did I learn… I’m more tune to his voice now… I’ve learn even to go to Him first on making any decision… I’m leaning on His understanding… not mine… Love you guys so much… I listen to you and Dr. Mike Freeman every morning (Mon-Fri) @ 5:30 a.m. while I’m getting dress for work.
I’m glad you pulled that point out. If we follow the tug and pull of Holy Spirit, that will cover if we are to bless or stop judging or any other instruction He may be saying. Your nosiness was a benefit to us, thanks.
TRUTH!!! Thank you for sharing the TRUTH!!!! Love you much!
As always POWERFUL! You have given us a visual perspective of our daily interaction with Holy Spirit.
What a great illstraction of Holy Spirit going everywhere I go to keep me on track. My job is to just yield & submit to his tugging & pulling & so much more….
Thanks for the reminder…..
Thank you Pastor Dee Dee, all I can say is thank you! ❤️
THIS IS AWESOME, THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGING WORDS.
THANKS FOR THE AWESOME WORDS.
Omg yes, this is good groceries. Thanks for the reminder that there are so many who are ready to receive and we just have to speak up. Love you, Mom!

Reading this feels good in my soul! I’m better able to minister, support and grow after reading this..thank you for sharing 😇
Love it. Thank you so much
This teaching blog was great. You are not the only one who has ignored the direction or pulling of the Holy Spirit to do something but giving into the flesh. It is wonderful to be able to hear from Holy Spirit. And we need to take full advantage of listening to Him. He is patient and always correct. We are the ones who are rebellious. And we need to be obedient to His directions. Amen! Thank you for correcting us. I know Holy Spirit directed you to write this for us. Be Blessed.
Ok i am Jamaican by birth but I live in the UK….please I have to respond in my dialect….Dr you are the best!!!! Woieeeeee yes iahhhhh….this Christian Holy Spirit a serious ting!!! Woiiiiieeee….I will be sharing this at my Bible study on Wednesday…. Loooool
lol…ah yes, the tugs…so gentle at first and then a little harder if i don’t respond. You got me thinking about how Holy Spirit doesn’t get overwhelmed with me like I do with my husband or my teenagers and I’m glad. But more importantly this was a pleasant reminder to listen to and go with Holy Spirit’s gentle nudges.
Thank you Dr. Dee Dee for reminding us that Holy Spirit is always there on purpose to tug, and pull us in the right direction.
Wow..gotta say…impressed with the dog…this was an easy one…this was a witness judt waiting to happen…good job Dr Dee…keep bringing ’em
WOW! Such an amazing analogy! It makes you consider how differently we might act if we were conscious of the Holy Spirit’s presence with us. WOW. Just . . . WOW!
Ahhh this was soo perfect.. Thanks for sharing, your such an Global inspiration 😘 I love you Dr. DeeDee
